2018 is going to be an amazing year for Digital Technologies in primary and secondary schools throughout Australia. At the Australian Computing Academy, we have been beavering away on some exciting activities for teachers and students.

  1. We have five engaging Digital Technologies challenges ready for the year 5’s and 7's: Make beautiful artwork with Turtle Graphics in Blockly, build an interactive Chatbot in Blockly and Python, learn about Geometry in Blockly and program sound with the Arduino Esplora in C.
  2. We are putting the final touches on some fantastic new DT challenges — the first of which will go online from the end of February: Become a Space Invader to save your planet, hone your creativity and creative thinking skills with Word Art, make an awesomely addictive game in Cookie Clicker, or brush up your knowledge about the animal kingdom (and tick off a few science curriculum outcomes at the same time) with our Biology Classifier challenge.
  3. There will be more teacher professional workshops, 2-day, 1-day and online. Check out our workshop page and join our mailing list to stay up to date with the Academy.

Your friendly neighbourhood ACA team.
